About Theopropus elegans

Theopropus elegans, the Banded Flower Mantis, is one of the most visually striking and elegantly patterned praying mantises in Southeast Asia. A member of the family Hymenopodidae, it is immediately distinguished by its bold black-and-white banded abdomen, vivid pink, white, and green colouration, and the ornate lobed extensions on its legs that contribute to its flower-mimicking appearance. The species name elegans is entirely apt — few mantises combine such chromatic vibrancy with such refined patterning. In spread position, the full splendour of its colouration and form is revealed, making it one of the most spectacular and desirable mantis specimens available to collectors. A genuine showpiece for any entomology cabinet or natural history display.

Perfect for entomologists, natural history collectors, educators, artists, interior designers seeking authentic Victorian cabinet aesthetics, and anyone passionate about the extraordinary diversity of the insect world.
