About This Specimen

Draco volans is the type species of the genus — the original flying dragon from which all others take their name — distributed across Java, Bali, and adjacent islands of the Indonesian archipelago. The name is a double declaration: Draco means ‘dragon’ and volans means ‘flying’ — making this quite literally the ‘flying dragon’, the species that defined the genus and gave the entire group its evocative identity. A taxonomically foundational, biogeographically significant, and visually exceptional addition to any serious natural history collection or herpetological study.

Perfect for herpetologists, naturalists, natural history collectors, educators, artists, and interior designers seeking authentic specimens with genuine scientific and aesthetic value.
